A Cebu-grown company has captured the need of the Cebuano health care market by introducing health care innovations that are tailored-fit to the need of each of its clients-corporate and family.

This level of quality is achieved through adoption of a system of procedures that reflect the competence of the Company to existing clientele, potential clients, existing and future business partners, and independent auditing authorities.

"This is our niche in the market. We customize our health care services based on the need of each company or family," said Kainos company president and chief executive officer Renato Dumaraos.

"We are not a health care management company neither are we an insurance company. Kainos is a third party administrator," he told Sun.Star Cebu.

Kainos is a managed care company serving the group health, workers' compensation and family program markets.

Program

"Through our preferred provider program, we emphasize relationship building with providers, clients, brokers and medical practitioners. We work hard at developing data systems, processing claims, reviewing bills, handling calls and creating service innovations that achieve results," Dumaraos said.

Kainos buys in bulk insurance from other insurance companies and repackages the services offered by these companies according to the needs of Kainos' clients.

"We took out the inconvenient experiences of our members in HMO (health care management organizations) and insurance companies. This is our strength," Dumaraos said.

No limit

He said Kainos does not limit its accredited doctors since it can accredit doctors, who are being referred to by their clients.

"They (clients) only have to inform us ahead of time if they have preferred doctors, then we will process their accreditation," Dumaraos said.

As a value-added-service to its clients, Kainos has tied up with other Cebu-grown establishments such as Rose Pharmacy and Executive Optical, wherein members can automatically get discounts, by just showing their Kainos membership IDs.

Through its partnership with Rose Pharmacy, Kainos may avail of a one percent discount in their purchases from any Rose Pharmacy outlet nationwide while Executive Optical gives free eye examination and as much as 50 percent discount on the purchases of selected eyewear products in its branches in SM City Cebu and Ayala Center Cebu.

Dumaraos said Kainos is still talking with other establishments such as a shipping companies and fitness centers for possible partnerships to be able to offer more value-added services to its members. (JBN)
